Resume Screen
The recruiting team reviews every application. We look at academic record, finance exposure, and written responses.
First Round Interview
A 30-minute behavioral interview with two HCG members assessing fit, motivation, and communication.
Technical Round
A 30-minute technical interview covering accounting concepts and basic valuation. No prior experience required — just preparation.
Final Decision
Offers are extended on a rolling basis. Accepted members receive onboarding materials and program start details.

Common questions
Do I need prior finance experience to apply?
No. Many of our strongest members joined HCG with no prior experience. We teach the technical foundation from scratch. What matters is motivation and willingness to put in the work.
What year should I be in school?
We accept students at all stages — freshmen through seniors. Earlier is better. Starting as a freshman means more time in the program and more recruiting cycles to take advantage of.
Is this only for students at target schools?
No — HCG is intercollegiate by design. We accept students from schools across the country. The whole point is to give students access regardless of where they go to school.
How much time does HCG require?
Approximately 4–6 hours per week during the curriculum. More during recruiting season, when you’ll be preparing for specific interviews.
Is there a GPA requirement?
No hard cutoff. We look at the full picture. Strong analytical ability and genuine interest in finance matter more than GPA alone.
What if I'm not sure I'm qualified?
If you're motivated and interested in finance, we encourage you to apply. Many of our strongest members felt uncertain before joining. HCG exists to give motivated students the structured preparation they need to compete.
